Maximising Productivity With Entrepreneurial Technology: A Look At ChatGPT

DAN SULLIVAN

What you’ll learn in this Multiplier Mindset blog post:

  1. The potential impact of ChatGPT and other technological breakthroughs on entrepreneurship, particularly in terms of increasing productivity and profitability.
  2. The importance of teamwork and collaboration in making the most of entrepreneurial technology, and the role that passionate and skilled individuals can play in this process.
  3. How entrepreneurs can benefit from technological advancements without necessarily needing to learn how to use them themselves by delegating to experts in the field.

A lot of people are curious about ChatGPT and what this artificial intelligence breakthrough might mean for how they do business.

As an entrepreneur who’s been in the game for over 40 years, I’ve seen countless technological advances, but I’m approaching ChatGPT with the same attitude with which I approach every new technology: with excitement and cautious optimism.

Multiplying what already exists.

When I think about ChatGPT, I feel a sense of wonder at the possibilities it holds. This AI has the potential to multiply our capabilities in unprecedented ways to help us achieve new heights of productivity and success.

But at the same time, I recognise that it’s not a magic solution.

It won’t change who we are as people, but it will amplify our strengths and weaknesses. If you’re a productive person, it will make you 10x more productive. If you’re distractible, you’ll be 10x more distractible.

ChatGPT has its limitations. It’s entirely dependent upon an existing knowledge base, which can be biased. There are also built-in protections that limit the types of questions we can ask it. Most importantly, while humans are storytellers and meaning makers, ChatGPT can only process information—it can’t draw connections between, or assign meaning to, new and old experiences the way humans can.

The potential of entrepreneurial technology.

As an entrepreneur, I’ve always aimed to surround myself with the best talent and resources, and ChatGPT is no exception.

A rule that I’ve applied to my entire career is that I never get involved in using a technology except when it’s been extraordinarily easy to do so. I always keep a smart, talented individual who is passionate about the technology between me and the technology. I team up with them so their mastery of it can help us move forward together to create greater value for our clients.

I’m confident that if ChatGPT proves to be a profitable and useful entrepreneurial technology, I’ll be more and more surrounded by ChatGPT experts. I’ll let them know what I want to be able to do, and they’ll create the capability for me.

The role of entrepreneurial technology in teamwork.

ChatGPT isn’t human intelligence, it’s artificial intelligence. And it’s only useful if it leads to more productive and profitable teamwork.

You can see the technology as something that can multiply the productivity and profitability of the teamwork you already have, which is your number-one multiplier. By working together with people who are skilled at using ChatGPT, we can achieve bigger and better results as a team than I ever could on my own.

And that’s what truly drives me as an entrepreneur: the desire to work alongside talented people and create something bigger and better.

In the end, it’s not just about the technology itself. It’s about the people who use it and the connections we forge through our work.

Breakthroughs like ChatGPT can help us reach 10x goals in a faster, easier, and simpler way. You can learn more about the 10x multiplier approach in my latest major market book, 10 Is Easier Than 2x, which is available for pre-order now.
